Yo man, its me again. If u havent already noe, i was in aust for the past four days, and this will be a blog on that, w/o the pics first, on the things i saw and did there. So bear wif me while i blabber abt this, if u have been there doen that.
Oh okie where in the heck did i went in aust? One of the cities in victoria, melbourne. Man, i love that place man, damn shiok! Esp now since it was late autumn early winter, shiok weather.
So i have to address the question set by seng. Wat the hell was I doing in melbourne?
It was a half sponsored trip frm me company. Which means that they merely pay for the air tickets and the hotel for me. Interestingly, breakfast came free as well, think u noe why. The rest of the expenses, self incurred. A company leisure trip, btw.
So i will being frm the beginning. We took a flight, BA, to melbourne. Flight was 6 hrs, interestly, more then half the flight, it was flying frm darwin(northwest aust) to melbourne(southeast aust). So i picture aust was damn big, cause it didnt really take us long to fly frm sing to the first sight of aust.
Some of u might noe this is my first time in a flying plane. I said flying cause i used to wash the interiors of planes when i was working once. It wasnt anything special, didnt vomit, but since its EY, the seats was damn cramp, so cramp that i smell my own fart if i fart(and some other poor souls).
So the view was nice on the plane, wif their small mirrors. There will be this phase when the plane fly in between the clouds and u can see u being sandwiched in between, but still make out a piece of the blue sky inbetween. Shiok, feels like u are in heaven. Hahahaha but no one states heaven in among the clouds and even if the new testament says so, i have been there and see no heaven.
And so we touch down. At the airport. It was after midnight and when u talk, u breath steam. Not that i never encounter this before, but the point is that is was damn cold. Freezing but there isnt snow yet. Not that i noe it will snow there.
So we travels to the hotels. Interesting, highway wasnt lighted. U rely on ur headlights, and there are no high rises in melbourne, so u feel alone in this piece of blacken land, if u think u can see stars, throughout my 4 days there, the sky was damn cloudy, damn damn cloudy. But i reckon night sky will be better than tekong. U noe whenever it was night, u can see a orangey glow in the sky just above the horizon? That was reflection of the lights on ground frm the clouds. The thing about aust is u can see nothing of this sort, so the night sky will be damn shiok.
Another thing is there are a heck lot of big banners along the highway. Those type u saw on top of buildings in US. Thing is singapore dont have these. And some of them are real funny. Like one on drink driving. "Just a little bit off? You bloody idiot!" Hahahaha cracks me up.
So we reach the hotel late in the night. The hotel was in the middle of the city, straight across a XXX shop(why i added this piece of info, i dont noe). And the rooms was damn small. Damn small...
So being tourist that just reached, we went around the city, which sleeps rather early, and walk around to see its life. The onli thing i realise is thatthe amount of eaterys and 7 11s they have. And for places wif alfresco seattings, they have this clear plastic patitions that bears their restarants' name set on the walkways, think is to block the wind and provide some protection in cases where cars come up the curb.
So the place looks like orchad road, but closer together, more concentrated, lesser lanes on the roads, more signboards, shorter buildings, with trams running around. I like! The next funny thing i realise was the traffic lights. U noe how traffic lights flashes green man when u are suppose to cross? And how it blink when they want u to cross faster if u r still crossing and to stop crossing if u havent already done so? Over here, they blink the red man! Hahaha so when u r at the traffic lights, it hits u its red and nobody dares to cross, and ppl in the middle of the road runs to the other end. I like it this way! hahahaha.
Another thing i realise is the natives there never jay walk, exclude their youths, ppl who jaywalk are all asians. Sad... Not that i wanna discriminate. We "Sia suay" ourselves.
Man, this entry got a bit long, i will continue the rest of it next time. See ya.
