hey hey, i'm back... just busy with my work. i am plain lazy... but just now, something happened. i burnt the wire of the toaster. suck it la.... cause my fren used the rice cooker and left the wire of the toaster lying on the stove and being very blur,i just cooked and smelt something weird. i thought it was due to the fact that the pan was too hot so i didn't bother to check... but it ended with a burnt wire. haven't report to the manager cause he's not back yet. hope the toaster don't cost too much or else i am done for it.
something that i notice while i was working
number one: americans like to use ziplock bags to store their money. i really don't understand the rationale behind it. not enough money to buy wallet? hahaha........
number two: amusement park really makes money. i was helping out with the games in my pier and i'm in charge of the duck pond. the duck pond is basically full of ducks and the person is suppose to pick up any duck and he/she wins a price. the problem lies with the fact that every duck has a one win at its underside so everybody wins basically.in otherwards, you are basically buying the toy. i was in charge for around 6 hours and i actually made around 400 bucks with it. this is just so crazy. haha.....
i think i had wanted to write a lot of small stuff down but i was too lazy and forgot them. i must be more hardworking next time.
i wanna work in food!

sorry guys. have not been diligent enough to post these days.. anyways, i walked for one hour plus to buy some grocery. it was unbelivable man cause my apartment mate didn't believe us. haha... i suppose nobody would spend so much time walking on the highway and if my mum finds out that i did that, i suppose she will chop me into pieces. went shopping today, bought bread, egg, one tank top and one belt(that's for banedon). on the way home, we met the people from our house so we were talking about where they go and stuff like that. heng that we met them, one of them offered to help me carry my tonic water! YEA!!!!! hahaha.... ( i sound childish)
we were suppose to open a bank account today but there was processing fees and we were not very keen to pay that so we didn't open a bank account in the end. hee.... i heard my bro that he opened a free bank account so i suppose i have to ask him where he opened it. the funny thing that i came across is that there is this plastic tube that transfers money and bank book from the bank to the car since not everyone goes to the bank by foot. it was quite an interesting idea man. haha....
for the dinner, i cooked french toast. not bad... i like the taste but maybe i could have added more herbs in.
i miss my boy boy!!!!! i love the 1st cat pic. i think it really reflects us! :D

didn't post yesterday because i was too lazy and didn't wake up at 5 o'clock in the morning to do blogging. there wasn't much to begin with though. we just did price tagging for the first day of work and went back to the apartment later to watch television. after about 1 hour or so, we figured that we shouldn't be staying in the apartment and we went out for a walk around this area. found another mart during our exploration and the things are cheaper than superfresh so we would be shopping over there during the next shopping trip. (i know i sound like an auntie comparing prices but the difference can really be quite big and i'm on serious budget.) after that, we went to the apartment to watch a show called top chef, which is another reality show. dun wish to comment about that show, it's just like any other reality show that you watch. after that, we went to our friends' apartment to get some sausage from them since we left it there. guess what, moyar cooked supper for them. i think moyar is interested in one of the guys even though she didn't say anything. (that's how i feel. but the problem was that he is too short :P i think he has the same height as her) but the pancake she made looked like popiah skin which is a little out of point since it's suppose to be pancake( thick and smooth) they didn't have butter and syrup so they substituted that with peanut butter. i didn't try that though. i don't like the pancake as well cause it tasted like flour. if i'm going to make with that premix, i am probably going to get some vanilla essence to cover the flour smell. the other guy cooked cauliflower and it didn't look very appealing since he was cooking it for half an hour ( i was like... cause my mum whipped up 3-4 dishes in 45mins and he took 30 to do one.)
the next day, we dressed up some dolls(not exactly the right word but i don't know how to spell "meniquins") and display them out. the manager and vice manager both were pissed off of the big boss's friend but whatever la... i don't care. oh ya.... the assistant manager is the mother of the manager and she's really nice and took care of us. she even offered to make meatballs for us! hahaha..... another guy that held the orientation that we had offered moyar to go for his bbq party or something like that. i think she probably will go but for me, i don't think since he didn't offered me. at night, we talked to our apartment mates and get to know them a little better. hee. that's all. i'm lazy man. haha

10.5.06

went for orientation yesterday! haha... know a few more people from singapore although not all but things will get better as time goes by. so they were giving rules and all while i was munching on hershey kisses that was on the table. this was something that was not foreign to me and i am just glad that there are enough of those to last me throughout the orientation.
there was this show that they showed called FISH whereby fishmongers have fish flying around and i am pretty sure they are having lots of fun! maybe i should throw my clothes around later. :P
oh well... i went to the supermarket to get ice cream and hotdogs and moyar was cooking for the new coming people from singapore since they don't know how to cook. as usual, i am just responsible for eating. i also ate some rice from my vietnamese friend and i felt it was pretty unique and tasty. heehee... i shall ask them to teach me how to cook man! oh ya.... cooked one egg with onions today. figured that they was too much onions cause moyar cut a whole onion. i was like wah..... so much onions. like the texture of the egg man! maybe i will cook for myself one of these days! :D
i also suddenly realised that i learn cooking without doing the actual cooking. i could sort of figure out what to do and stuff like that. heehee.... and i feel that sometimes moyar cooked too violently. she was telling me yesterday monrning that i cannot be a curly fries fryer because i was afraid of oil. come on, please use your common sense, if you can just avoid that damn oil from splashing yourself. just avoid it! why would you want to get yourself burnt for a dish? she got herself burnt just yesterday while cooking for dinner. nevermind... i will just continue to eat my food.
nothing much for the orientation since we were just introduced to what are the names of the rides which i can't seemingly remember. hmmz.... shall go through the names again. will be starting work today! doing some tagging and all.

i have been posting one day late everyday but this is due to the fact that i want to capture everything that happened during the day. heehee.. (excuses huh but whatever) went to do some paperwork today and melissa(the recruiting department person) and she asked us what job did we wanna do. we can either be lifeguard (as the name suggest, they are suppose to save people) but they have to be ride operator for the time being due to the fact that nobody wants to swim in icy cold water (i am wearing like 3 layers of clothing and still feeling cold). i didn't want to become that because i don't want to be in icy cold water for the training. i don't have marvellous body shape as well as the fact that i don't want to end up drowning myself while trying to save some 100kg person in the pool. the next job is ride operator, like the former, you operate the ride, check the height of people and do safety checks. i didn't want to do this because it's pretty routine and i don't want la.... so boring(even though i have to admit that i am a boring person to hang out with most of the time since i just stone all the way). the third job that was offered is working at the games stations. those like throwing darts, flipping coins onto plates and so on. these people are responsible for tending those stalls. i didn't want to do this because i am firstly not very vocal and it gets confusing who won and stuff like that. the 4th job was administrator whereby you are suppose to sell tickets or become a helpdesk. wanted to do this but the person didn't want me to do it because i have not been a cashier before and stuff like that. in addition, my face suggest that i am not vocal and sensitive enough to be the helpdesk. so i am left with one choice and that is food. just simply cooking food and doing minor cashiering. haha.. i chose that for another reason which was i can take food back(the food here is pretty expensive actually so getting leftover will be a great thing for me!!!)
after doing the documents and while assigning to the in-charge, i realised i didn't fall into any of the above category. haha.... i ended up doing retail because the manager of the stall needed people who can speak english fluently (do i speak fluently?? i don't think so actually but nevermind, there's air con in there so i don't have to suffer from precarious heat during the summer time) the manager's name is called kathy and the assistant manager, who is her mum, is also called kathy. so as you can see, if you don't know what to call your daughter, just let her follow your name. haha.. isn't that easy? she's also doing this for the first time and i can see she is quite nervous and excited about this business and i'm pretty relieved because this means that she won't have certain expectations on us because she don't know about it. haha... :P so for the next few days, we will be doing tagging, stock taking(they called it inventory though), hanging up the clothes according to sizes and dress up the manequins (erms... i don't know how to spell that). there's quite a lot of things to be done actually and i am starting to sort of plan what we should do first and that sort of thing. i don't want to end up doing double work and stuff like that. will be doing my pass and attending orientation the next day(which is today actually) quite a nice boss. i kinda like her actually. :D
then we went shopping again. this time round, i decided to share only some stuff with my friend because i realised that we have quite a different level of requirements for our food so i just go ahead and suggested that we can share some of the things while split those that we want. she was pretty okay with it and i think it's just for the better for two of us since she like certain stuff while i hate it and vice versa. shopping together may become a chore for us in the future so i just wanted a split. maybe next time, we will do different shopping and stuff like that, it will be better. i don't want to end up quarreling over food. i decided to go ahead and buy oreo cookies(i think it can last quite a while since it has amounts that is equivalent to 3 long tubes in singapore. i am pretty happy about it. i know she dun like this but i really wanted it so i just went ahead with it. i also bought one can of cream of mushroom(equivalent to 2 meals. i can toast some bread and eat half a can of campbell! hahaha..) next on is cheese, i wanted to toast some bread together with cheese and sugar just like what my mum used to do for me. i love it and don't mind having it everyday. i am contemplating whether i should buy peanut butter but i figure out i better don't since it's pretty fattening :P i don't want to end up growing fat when i go back to singapore. but well, girls are fickle minded and i may just change my mind during my next shopping trip! i also bought i loaf of bread. quite expensive. i think i will buy the other brand next time. initially, my friend wanted to buy flour(which i am not very keen on since i don't want to help her make those stuff. why make cookies when you can get it at 25cents usd per piece. not a very wise choice and i just say i don't want to share. guess what? she ended up putting back into the shelves. i was like hmm.... you can just go ahead and buy. we also bought beef(i don't mind sharing that) and onions. we bought one waffle mix(although i think it's a waste of money and i don't really want it but aiya.... i think she is more stingy than me and keep wanting to share. i was like. okay lor... nevermind la... share lor. treat it like mac breakfast lor. but it's waffle mix. i don't know how things will turn out) we also bought sugar! haha... for my cheese! and bought eggs(we found out somebody just took one of the eggs out after we brought it home. it's simply unlucky huh) she went ahead with yoghurt(i dun fancy yoghurt and i feel that that's a surplus since i feel it's more like a dessert rather than food) and also two packs of instant noodles. (seriously, from the packaging, i don't think it's nice so i didn't want any. i will wait till she has eaten it before i eat any of those.) everytime amounts to 33USD. so actually, i have spent 30odds USD on food so far. it's pretty saddening because we didn't manage to get 1.99 ice cream. there's no one single tub left man. have to go and buy earlier next time round. haha...
i can sense she is quite sad about the split thingy but ya... i don't want her to restrict what i want to buy and i don't want to restrict what she wants to buy. i mean people have different wants and that sort of thing and i don't feel the need to accomodate her (since she is not my bf/gf and her style is just pretty off from me because i value my breakfast alot while she doesn't. that's where the difference come about) it's not that i don't like her cooking so i just hope she understands.
actually, i also don't like the idea that she sticking with me all the time la.... (i am not her gf/bf). for the job thingy, i wanted to do food and initially she wanted to do the ride operator. but in the end, she wanted to do food too (i was like hmm....) and we end up doing retail together. i don't know whether that's a good thing or a bad one. i just hope everything turns out okay... haha.... i seriously like her(as a friend) but she don't control/psycho me. i won't be bothered so much about it. for the job thingy, i think i will let her handle all the things. i won't bother about arguing with her or whatever.
the idea of everybody asking her to take care of me also kinda pisses me off. my mum and several friends all asked her to take care of me. am i that weak and incapable of taking care of myself? i don't know... one of my friends told me it's because they are concerned with me that's why they wanted her to take care of me. whatever la... i don't think i am that incapable as they think but who cares about what they think? i am just a weakling in their eyes. i won't be bothered anymore. i just wanna enjoy what i am doing now and don't care what other people has to say. satisfying others kind of pisses me off.
signing off here. going to bath now. :D today will be a great day for me because i have oreo cookies with me! YEA!

8.5.06

didn't do much over here on the third day. just went to the theme park to play some of the games over there. i didn't play the big roller coaster because my fren couldn't take it. haha...
we actually played some octopus thingy which was quite scary, teacups and roundabout(i went reluctantly la... cause i don't really like to play this kind of things. i am 21 and i am doing what 5 years old do... shame on me man). i also did a mini rollercoaster but was not really very scary... the feeling was pretty good though. erms... oh ya... the ferris wheel. it was quite a scene from up there but i didn't bring camera along so i think i will ride one more time on that. the ocean is just marvellous. i wished i had brought my camera along man! and i realised that i was surrounded but water (which may offer some explanation as to why this place was so cold right now). i was shivering when i was on the ferris wheel cause the wind is just so strong! went on some bumper car ride. i love this man... it's just that when i was in singapore, i felt it was not worth it cause it is like 1.5 or 2 bucks for bumping car of about 3 minutes. we also ride on some pirate ship kinda of thingy whereby there's 3D effect after wearing some glasses. i was pretty scared as i was thinking there might be some skull thingy dropping in front of me or something like that but it turned out to be quite a flop with one person trying to grab my hand. hmmz... not very exciting. last but not least, i went on some circling ride( i really have no idea how to describe that) and it was quite a horrible experience since my friend was squashing me like i was just a poor tuna. boohoo.... and just when i think the ordeal was over, i realised it was going backwards. i got squashed as well.... hmms..... simply terrible. haha...
that's the shedule for the 3rd day.
for breakfast, we had some toasted bread. afternoon, we had pasta with brocolli and chicken and at night, we had chicken soup with potato, salad and bread(simply because the bread was expiring.)
so that's all for the day. will be having orientation on the 4th day. :)

6.5.06

as i promise, here's the 2nd day of my trip in new jersey. did nothing much.... just ate wholemeal bread for breakfast and grilled chicken and baked potato for lunch. heehee... afterwhich, we went to explore the place and i found out that the place i work has lots of pizza shops and we managed to find one that is 99cents per piece and it will be my new food source for the next 2 and that half months. the clothes are extremely cheap, it's only a dollar!!! where can you find this type of clothes in singapore man??!!! haha...... may be going to the beach with my other friends and theme park rides after that!
updates later!

5.5.06

Ok, so for those of you who are wondering just how long my freaking hair is, here it is,

Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us

Yeah! Its freaking long!

a brief update from me too!
sometimes, i feel i have the power of fortune telling because i can predict that when banedon decides to blog. haha.... anyway, i have been contemplating whether i should post on this blog or my own blog because i want to update my daily activities in US. and no... it's not student exchange but a work and travel program. i know it sounds stupid if i told you that i go all the way there just to be an amusment park worker but i have to admit that i did just that.

So what do i have for you in today's blog? i think i would write about from departure till the point i am doing now.

the first torture of the day was that i have to wake up at 4-430am just to catch a 8am flight. nothing special happened except that i ate a kaya toast and milo breakfast. i am starting to think of my milo already... shucks... i forgot to bring instant milo over here. how am i suppose to survive without milo for 3 months? I am not sure myself. haha.... anyways, i board the flight with a bottle of gin. hehee.... is 19 bucks(dutyfree) and decided that i would drink in the hostel when i reach america. hee. the flight was relatively normal and we change flight at taipei. after which, a grandma bringing his grandson was sitting at a position diagonal of me and you know how irritating children can be and the child decided to make a havoc by crying and making noise for 10 hours of my ride to anchorage. although i said it was irritating, i just keep laughing. ( i must be crazy man) when departing the plane to do immigration stuff to enter to US, the person sitting in front of me starts getting crazy and keeps complaining to her bf(i suppose) that the grandma was very irritating. but anyway, she was just as irritating as the small kid and i felt like giving her a tight slap and ask her to shut up. ( i dun have a very good temper to begin with)

anyway, i still had to take a 6 hours flight to new york and the child and her/his grandma was still sitting at the same position and i have to tolerate the noise for another 6 hours. but i still keep laughing (i must be really crazy) i even cried when i heard This Love on the plane. i'm not sure why i got so emotional over this but i suppose i also miss my boy too much that i can't control my tears. oh ya... i almost forgot to tell you. my arrival time was late by one hour plus because some people are late for the taipei to anchorage flight and some people can't clear the immigration. we waited for 45 minutes for those who can't clear immigration and had to take down their lugguage. i wonder what would be of them. will they be sent back to taipei or will they have "special arrangement"?? i really don't know man.

upon reaching new york at 12 am in the morning, we started to wonder how do we get to new jersey( my workplace btw) and started walking around and asking. initially, we wanted to take subway and bus there but guess what, i got to ride on a limousine in the end. hahaha..... it's 350 for eight people and it will reach my workplace. think of the trouble i have saved myself of transferring from one type to another transportation and the best thing is that i got on a limousine. nevermind whether its old or whatever, i sat on a LIMOUSINE. heard that? hahahaha..... quite cool an it is exactly like those we saw in movies where there is a bar counter and a television too. the bk breakfast is definitely better than those in singapore. we get to make our own drinks too! (my friend was a little weird since she started to take packet lemon juice, grape jam, mayo, etc.....)

after we reached new jersey, we settled with the housing (which has wireless!!! so i can talk to my boy boy tomorrow morning. ps: please pardon me if i got the timing wrong since the difference between new jersey and singapore is exactly 12 hours)
is polling over? i suppose so right? can't really know what is the date in singapore now since there's a difference in one day between new jersey and singapore. according to new jersey, it's 5th of may now.

gotta meet new people and chatted with them. two of them are really pretty man but also high mantainence. haha.... for me, i went to the supermarket and do some grocery shopping. i started to miss singapore since i have to do alot of conversions while shopping for my stuff and things here are so expensive. my friend keeps reminding me that we should only buy necessities and not wants because i wanted a cookie. OMG>>> i am deprived of COOKIE in US! somebody help me. i feel like a slave now man. i miss those things i had in singapore. i want my milo! oh ya.... the apartment in charge just informed me that no alcohol drink allowed. i am starting to wonder what i should do with my gin. i suppose i will go ahead with my drinks but just to take sips and not shots. anyways.... feeling sleepy now. new york lights at night stretches as far as the horizon and they even have rectangular pattern... yawns.... i am starting to slip into my dreamland man. haha.... may edit my post later. see ya guys and wait for my updates alright? :D

i miss my boy boy!!!! i will quickly come back to hug my darling.
ps: when did i become a maid?? and i really miss the tapioca and red wine. boohoo..... i wan to get back to sg le la!!! there's no dark soy sauce in new jersey!!!!!

Yo ppl. I have not been blogging for the last half a year and now i am back.

So a brief update, my girlfriend(aka maid) went USA for student exchange for 3 mths, she flew last thurs(yesterday) and i am starting to miss her already... Sianz...

And i have got a new phone, a SE w800i, which is a camera phone so i will make this blog into a photo blog.

So remember when i was saying i was learning bass? You noe, some issues back. So i have bought a music stand, or rather, a stand that holds your music sheets/books, that looks like this.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Yeah cool man, i like it. It does save me a lot of trouble when i was playing. But now, this is how it looks like.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Man, its holds up my trousers. I think every guy should get one. It comes in handy for guys who are staying in your own room. It holds your *coughs* korn *coughs* books open while you hands are busy with other stuff. I like.

So my girl is gone... and my room is is in disarray... Wah...

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

The floor of my room... So disgusting... So for guys who wanna keep long hair like me, think again if u clean up ur room urself... Girl! Where are you!

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

See? My desk so messy! You come back and help me clean! :P

My bass book and all are in disarray!

In case u cant figure out the pics(after all, the camphone is only 2 megpix) the orange thingy is a packet of chili tapioca chips with ikan bilis and peanuts(i dont think u can get that over in USA) and the red can is a can of red wine.

Arh, can of red wine, not bottle ok? In case u are wondering, heres the close up.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

In case the resolution not clear, its a can of premium aust wine(or it was so stated on the can) from bin 121 (god noes wat that means, and i tot only penfold do that) from this viner called baroket, its a carb, merlot and shiraz mixed. Quite good, one of the better ones i have tastes and the contents is about 2 and a half glass, so its just nice and i dont have to open one bottle.

You chao paisi! Come back quick! I miss you! :P
